HOMESTEAD ALERT- TIME SENSITIVE
If you plan on making Florida your homestead you had better do it by December 31st 2011 to get the tax benefits in 2012. To apply you will need a driver's license, vehicle registration as well as a voter's registration.
The March 1st deadline does not apply it must be done before year end.
